Terms and Conditions

The terms that apply when you book a lesson, package, or test service with My Driving Trainer.

Effective from 8 June 2026 These Terms govern the booking and delivery of driving lessons, lesson packages, and test services provided by Aadi Ventures Pty Ltd (ABN 38 683 370 612), trading as My Driving Trainer. By booking a lesson, paying for a package, or completing the enquiry or support forms, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Parties and definitions

"We", "us", and "our" mean Aadi Ventures Pty Ltd (ABN 38 683 370 612), trading as My Driving Trainer, an Adelaide-based driving school. "You" and "your" mean the student, or the parent or guardian booking on behalf of a student under 18. "Instructor" means the authorised driving instructor delivering the lesson.

"Lesson" means a single block of driving instruction of the duration you booked. "Package" means a pre-paid group of lessons. "Test" or "VORT" means the Vehicle On-Road Test administered by Service SA.

2. Services we provide

We provide driving instruction across Adelaide, including beginner lessons, refresher courses, overseas-licence conversion lessons, and VORT preparation. Lessons are delivered by an authorised driving instructor in our dual-control vehicle. We may also provide our vehicle for use on VORT test days as part of a test package.

All lessons are conducted with reasonable care and skill, consistent with industry standards and the standards set by the relevant government authority.

3. Bookings and confirmation

You can book a lesson by:

  • Using our online booking system at mydrivingtrainer.com.au/book.
  • Sending us a message on WhatsApp at 0406 870 000.
  • Calling 0406 870 000 during business hours.
  • Using the enquiry or support forms on this website.

A booking is confirmed only when we send a confirmation message back to you. Holding a time slot in a booking system without our confirmation does not create a booking.

We may decline or cancel a booking if the student does not have valid documentation, if the lesson cannot be conducted safely, or if the requested location is outside our service area.

4. Pricing and payment

Our current prices are listed on the Prices page of this website. Prices include GST where applicable and are in Australian dollars.

The price that applies to your booking is the price displayed at the time you confirm and pay, not the price displayed if you later return to the page after a price change. Once a package is paid for, its price is locked in for the lessons within that package.

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Card payments through Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay).
  • Bank transfer to the account we provide on request.
  • Cash, by prior arrangement.

Payment for a single lesson is due before or at the start of the lesson. Payment for a package is due before the first lesson in the package. We may refuse to start a lesson if payment is outstanding.

5. Cancellation and rescheduling

Single lessons (pay-as-you-go)

  • 24 or more hours’ notice: free to cancel or reschedule.
  • Less than 24 hours’ notice: the lesson is charged in full.

Bulk packages

There is no minimum notice period to cancel or request a refund on a package.

  • Lessons already completed are charged at the standard (full, non-discounted) per-lesson rate.
  • A 10% fee on the total package cost applies (to cover transaction charges, account services and admin fees).
  • Refund amount: amount paid, minus the standard price of lessons already taken, minus 10% of the total package cost.

Driving test (VORT)

  • 7 or more days’ notice: $100 (covers government, examiner and admin fees).
  • Less than one week but 4 or more days’ notice: $250.
  • Less than 4 days’ notice: $450.

No-show

If you do not show up at the agreed pickup location within 15 minutes of the scheduled lesson start time, and we have not been able to contact you, this is treated as a no-show. The full lesson fee is payable.

Running late

If you are running late, message us on WhatsApp as soon as possible. We will try to keep the lesson on time, but the lesson will still end at the originally scheduled time. We are not able to extend a lesson into another student’s slot.

If we need to cancel

If we cancel a lesson, for example because of instructor illness, vehicle failure, severe weather, or any other reason, we will give you as much notice as we reasonably can. We will reschedule the lesson at no cost or, if you prefer, refund the lesson fee.

6. Refunds and your consumer rights

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) where that right cannot lawfully be excluded. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL, including the guarantee that services will be supplied with due care and skill.

Subject to the ACL:

  • Package cancellation fee: if you cancel or refund an unused or partially used package, a 10% fee on the total package cost applies (to cover transaction charges, account services and admin fees), and any lessons already completed are charged at the standard per-lesson rate. There is no minimum notice period. This is separate from any ACL rights you hold.
  • Cooling-off: if you pay for a single lesson or package and have not yet started using it, you may request a refund within 7 days of payment (less any applicable package cancellation fee, or the full amount for single lessons cancelled with 24 or more hours’ notice).
  • Used lessons in a package: if you have used some lessons in a package, we will refund the amount paid minus the standard (full, non-discounted) per-lesson rate for lessons already completed, minus the 10% package cancellation fee on the total package cost.
  • Test day services: the Service SA test fee component of a test package is paid to Service SA and is governed by Service SA’s own rescheduling and refund rules. Our instructor and vehicle fee for that day is governed by the VORT cancellation tiers in Section 5.
  • Refund method: refunds are made back to the original payment method, where possible. Bank transfer refunds may take 3 to 5 business days.
  • Disputes: if you believe a service has not been delivered with due care and skill, contact us first so we can try to resolve it. Section 17 explains how to reach us.

7. Lesson packages and expiry

Lesson packages must be used within 12 months of the date of purchase. After 12 months, any unused lessons in the package are forfeited unless we have agreed in writing to extend the expiry. Reasonable extensions for medical or compassionate reasons will not be unreasonably refused.

Lessons within a package cannot be transferred to another person without our written consent.

8. VORT and test day

To use our vehicle and instructor for a VORT, you must:

  • Hold a valid learner's permit and meet the minimum supervised driving hours required by Service SA.
  • Bring valid identification and your learner's permit on test day.
  • Wear corrective lenses if your permit requires them.
  • Be fit to drive, with no drugs, alcohol, or medication affecting your ability to safely operate a vehicle.
  • Arrive at the pickup location at least 15 minutes before the agreed time.

If you do not meet any of these requirements on the day, your test cannot proceed in our vehicle. The instructor fee and any non-refundable Service SA component remain payable. We do not guarantee a pass on the VORT, as the outcome depends on your driving on the day and the test examiner's assessment.

9. Conduct during lessons

While you are in our vehicle, you must:

  • Follow the instructor's directions at all times. The instructor's directions take priority over satellite navigation or your own intended route.
  • Not be under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or any medication that may impair driving.
  • Wear a seatbelt at all times.
  • Not use a mobile phone or any other handheld device while driving.
  • Treat the instructor and the vehicle with respect.

The instructor may end a lesson early, without refund, if you breach any of these rules, behave aggressively or unsafely, or appear unfit to drive.

10. Vehicle, pickup, and area

We provide a registered, insured, dual-control vehicle suitable for driving instruction. Fuel is included in the lesson fee.

We are based at Firle Plaza, 171 Glynburn Rd, Firle SA 5070. We provide pickup across Adelaide upon request. For pickup locations more than 30 minutes' drive from Firle, additional travel may be quoted at the time of booking.

11. Liability and insurance

Our vehicle is fully insured for driving lessons. Provided you follow the instructor's directions and these Terms, you will not be personally liable for any insurance excess in the event of an incident during a lesson.

You may be liable for damage to the vehicle if the damage results from your wilful misconduct, deliberate disregard of the instructor's directions, or a breach of Section 9.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, our liability to you for any claim arising from the services is limited to one of the following, at our choice: re-supplying the relevant service, or refunding the amount you paid for it.

12. Students under 18

If the student is under 18, a parent or guardian must make the booking and agree to these Terms on the student's behalf. The parent or guardian is responsible for payment, cancellations, and any obligations under these Terms.

13. Intellectual property

All content on this website, including study materials, articles, photographs, and the My Driving Trainer name and logo, is owned by us or used with permission. You may use the content for your personal learning. You must not copy, republish, or commercially distribute the content without our written consent.

14. Privacy

How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you agree to that policy as well as these Terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Australia. If a dispute arises, you and we will try to resolve it informally first. If we cannot resolve it, the dispute will be dealt with in the courts of South Australia.

If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of the Terms continue to apply.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL, and the "Effective from" date at the top will be updated each time. The Terms that apply to your booking are the ones in effect at the time you confirm the booking, not any later version.
